if i fail, let me be wormfood.

what did i even do this past week. i have no idea.

oh right, it was ff14 patch week, so i've been pretty occupied with that. unfortunately there are new maps and i am working on clearing them a bunch of times, an activity that is not particularly fun. why am i doing it, then? fuck if i know. i can't say i have nothing better to do because i do actually have better things to do... but here i am, all the same.

writing has been so-so. i'm still writing every day, but i haven't gotten much work done on fic, and i had one day last week where i was so busy i didn't hit my usual daily word goal. (still wrote, though, so that's something.) haven't gotten much done on the creative front outside of words lately...

i have joined another raid group (mostly made up of folks from previous groups) to tackle one of the hardest fights in ff14, which i'm excited about. except the hours were fine for me until we had to shuffle the roster, and now i have to stay up late on mondays, which i am not thrilled about. but i really want to do this raid, so we soldier on.

my birthday is this week, so there's good food in my future as i have dinner plans with each set of parents (though neither is on my actual birthday). i should find something fun to do the day of, but nothing has come to mind yet...

starting off the week with some terrible news: my tv is fucking up on me. i get sound, but absolutely no picture, no matter what i try. i've done all the typical troubleshooting, and i'm pretty sure it's just cooked. not thrilled about this in the least, especially as i spend most of my gaming time on the ps5.

health-wise, i'm doing better; pain meds are doing their job so i haven't been in the terrible state i was about a month ago. still need to work on my knees, but we're making some progress.

mogtome season has just about wrapped up in ff14; i did far too many GATEs in the gold saucer for mogtomes. new patch tomorrow, including VIERA HATS, a thing i have been wanting for six straight years. cannot believe my viera finally gets to wear her red mage hats, i'm so thrilled.

i've been lazy about picking a new book to read, which i should really fix this week as i'll have a good chunk of time for reading. as far as other media consumption goes, i watched kpop demon hunters a few nights ago with a friend and absolutely loved it. what a joyful film. a true delight. i've been listening to all the tracks from it on repeat.

i feel like i'm forgetting something to talk about, but it's not coming to me... hmm. there's always next week, i suppose.
