fic talk: armor... enhance

had a good armor meta (lol) chat that reminded me of something i've been on the fence about changing in S11 au: maine's armor.

this is one of those tiny little things that show up in one sentence and get mentioned in another that have always made me stop and think, "huh, do i really wanna go this way?" and then i'd forget immediately and never did anything about it. :B

changing maine's armor to not be what he wore at the end of season 8 opens up a lot of possibilities: first and foremost, it allows the armor to have still been recovered by certain interested parties. and second, it gives wash room to have doubt in that very first moment — armor that's similar enough to be eerie, and clearly deliberately chosen rather than coincidental. third, when [REDACTED], it [REDACTED]. (wink) and besides, it's a signal that maine's adopted chorus, and chorus has adopted him in return.

now the real question is whether i edit just the few things i need to edit in part I, or whether i go through with the heftier edits on part I i've been considering.

Those are all very good reasons! Especially with how much narrative weight armor changes carry in the show itself.
