I don't have anything to add to this except that I'm grateful DW is fighting the fight. Though I never expected they'd roll over on age verification, it's heartening to see.

2025 week 34

this post is late! i only realized i hadn't done it at about 10:45pm last night, and i had raid at 11pm, so there was no time to write a post. oops.

i managed to make a little progress on fic this past week, although it's been touch and go. that said, the first 2-3 chapters have been looked over by betas and i think i can start posting soon. i think i'm going to go with a monday posting schedule since i'm usually pretty free that day... i just need to take a cover photo for posting. usually i would wait until the fic is entirely done to start posting, but this fic is SO LATE that i feel like i need to start getting it out there already...

smallweb is hosting small web september next month, and i'm hoping to actually make a dent on some site plans. i wrote a ton of goals in july, and then i was beset by all sorts of maladies that meant i couldn't do any of them. still mulling over what exactly i'd like to accomplish, but i'm hoping to launch my ff14 fic archive for sure since it's halfway done in both content and coding.

i've still been doing maps in ff14; once again i reminded that they're only fun when you're not trying to grind out 20 clears. (i'm at 12/20... so close, and yet so far.) other than that my weekend extreme farm is going well; i really like hanging out and running the extremes with them. it's a little unusual to have a static for extremes (they're generally pick-up-group content) but i have a much easier time doing such things with a fixed group. (plus there's a certain level of — well, i know these folks, i know they can do it! so that helps.)

i think that's about it for now... hoping to do more site stuff this week, we'll see.

2025 week 33

was quite busy with family stuff this past week, so didn't do a whole lot else. what free time i did have was mostly spent in ff14, as usual... but i did get writing done, even some fic writing.

i've started work on a new website! this will be a fic archive, with the caveat that i can't actually host my fic on it. (my webhost strictly disallows adult content, and while that doesn't encompass all of my fic, it covers enough of it that it would be weird to have only the SFW fics.) so the idea is that it'll be a nice link list for all of my fics, along with some behind the scenes/extended author's notes on specific fics. i have the layout done, but i haven't written the content yet and i need to do that before i code any more, because i've no idea how i'm setting up the sections. oops.

in any case, that should be a fun thing to work on when i feel up to it. unfortunately my pain levels have been all over the place, so it's been difficult to do a whole lot of creative work on bad pain days. but i'm trying to push through.

still haven't played more trails in the sky the 3rd, which i really need to get back to if i'm going to finish it before the remake of 1st comes out...! admittedly the ff tactics remake comes out around the same time and that takes priority, but i'd still like to have a clean slate sooner than later.
